Woodlands Centre Road no-right-turn restriction

The 24/7 restriction on turning right from Woodlands Centre Road to enter Woodlands Checkpoint, the official alternative routes, and LTA's separate note about traffic diversions during certain hours.

From 17 July 2023, all vehicles except buses and authorised vehicles are prohibited from making a right turn from Woodlands Centre Road to enter Woodlands Checkpoint. OneMotoring states that the prohibition applies at all times (24/7), including public holidays (LTA OneMotoring, Driving Rules and Information).

ICA explained that the restriction was intended to help public buses enter Woodlands Checkpoint during peak periods without being obstructed by other modes of transport (ICA, Congestion During Long Weekends or Holiday Periods Not Caused by Singapore).

To access Woodlands Checkpoint, vehicles within the restriction should use either the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) or Woodlands Road. The page also states that signs will be placed along nearby roads to remind motorists of the change (LTA OneMotoring, Driving Rules and Information).

Separate traffic-diversion note

The same page separately says that, during certain hours, traffic from Woodlands Centre Road is diverted to improve traffic flow along Woodlands Centre Road and Woodlands Checkpoint. Its overview does not identify the hours, affected movements, or the route used for this diversion, and does not say that it is the same measure as the 24/7 right-turn restriction (LTA OneMotoring, Driving Rules and Information).

Coverage debt

  • This article records the operational note on the live OneMotoring page; it does not infer exemptions beyond “buses and authorised vehicles”.
  • The page mentions a separate diversion during “certain hours” but gives no schedule, affected vehicle classes or movements, or route in that overview. Do not infer these details or treat the diversion as identical to the 24/7 right-turn restriction (LTA OneMotoring, Driving Rules and Information).
