Facility signs and vehicle markings
Official handbook guidance on facility and tourist-direction signs, dangerous-goods signs, long-vehicle reflectors, and vehicle speed-limit markings.

Facility signs give motorists information about facilities and the direction to take. The handbook describes them as black lettering on a white background with black borders. Directions to tourist places of interest use white multi-lingual text on a brown background with white borders, arrows, and pictures (SPF, Basic Theory of Driving).
Vehicles carrying dangerous goods must display hazard-information signs, such as a sign stating “DANGER — HIGHLY FLAMMABLE” (SPF, Basic Theory of Driving).
The handbook describes a long vehicle as a goods vehicle longer than 10 m, a trailer longer than 5 m, or a mobile crane longer than 10 m. Long vehicles must display at least three yellow reflective markings on each side and at least one red reflective marking at the rear; mobile cranes require rear markings only (SPF, Basic Theory of Driving). The governing Rear and Side Markings Rules separately prescribe markings for long vehicles and vehicles carrying projecting loads (Singapore Statutes Online, Rear and Side Markings Rules).
Buses, goods vehicles, and trailers must display a marking showing the maximum speed in kilometres per hour at which the vehicle may be driven or drawn. The vehicle must not exceed that vehicle speed limit or the posted road speed limit, whichever is lower (SPF, Basic Theory of Driving).
